San Carlos

San Carlos is centrally located on the Peninsula, between San Mateo to the north and Redwood City to the south. That middle position is part of the appeal. You can reach San Francisco or the South Bay tech corridor without committing to a long drive in either direction.

The city runs from the flatter neighborhoods near the bay up into the hills to the west, so the housing and the views shift quite a bit depending on where you land. I am happy to walk you through how those different pockets compare when you are ready to start looking.

Laurel Street is the heart of San Carlos, a walkable downtown stretch with shops and places to eat that draws people from the surrounding neighborhoods. It gives the city a real center, which is not something every Peninsula town has.

Caltrain runs through San Carlos, which makes commuting up to San Francisco or down toward the South Bay straightforward without a car. Highway 101 and El Camino Real are both close by, so you have options whether you are heading to the office or out for the weekend.
